DIYfunding Privacy Policy

What information I collect - and why

When you decide to use the DIYfunding process, I collect certain information from you (your name and email address) in order to be able to send you the items you order.

I request the same information if you ask me to send you the free six-part course, "6 Days to Funding Success". Please note that if you ask me to send you the course you retain the option, at any time, to unsubscribe from it should you wish to do so.

I also collect your credit card details in order to fulfil your order.

If you email me, I keep a record of any email correspondence you send me. This enables me to keep track of any problems or concerns you may have.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files that web sites can send to your computer. Cookies make the interaction between users and web sites faster and easier. Without cookies, it would be very difficult for a web site to allow a visitor to buy anything.

Cookies are not computer programs. They can't read other information saved on your hard drive, nor can they be used to disseminate viruses or get your e-mail address. They only contain and transfer to the web site as much information as you disclose to the web site.

The DIYfunding website uses cookies to record users' responses to the questions in the DIYfunding buying process. This is done to allow DIYfunding to tailor your documentation pack to your specific requirements.

The European Union Directive on Privacy and Electronic Communications (the "Directive"), which came into force on 31st July 2002, recognises that cookies are a "legitimate and useful tool" for many activities, including verifying the identity of web site users. The Directive makes it compulsory for web sites to inform users if cookies are being used (as I am doing here), and to provide some information on how cookies are used. You can find more information on this subject at www.aboutcookies.org. Lastly, the Directive obliges web sites to make users aware that they can set their computers to reject cookies. You will find the instructions on how to do this at www.aboutcookies.org However, you should be aware that the DIYfunding website (in common with most other web sites involving the purchase of both goods and services) cannot work without cookies.

How I use your personal data

All the information I collect via www.diyfunding.co.uk or through subsequent correspondence with you is used to operate efficiently the service I am offering. I will use the information you provide to:

  • Work out exactly which information I need to supply in order to meet your specific requirements.

  • Fulfill orders for the supply of DIYfunding goods and services.

  • Plan and manage DIYfunding's business, including analysing users' preferences.

  • Contact you from time to time with offers (from DIYfunding alone) that I think may be of interest to you.

Please note: When you pay for your DIYfunding purchase, you leave the DIYfunding site for the secure Barclays Merchant Services site for your payment details to be collected. Barclays Merchant Services' privacy policy covers all information collection at that point.

There are only two circumstances in which I would ever share some of your data with others

1. With agents (including credit reference agencies, credit card clearing agencies, fraud prevention and detection agencies) that we use to process the orders you place with us or who assist us in the service we provide to you. In these instances, we provide them with only the information they need to perform their function.

2. In the event that our business assets are ever sold to or purchased by another company. (Our data records are part of our business).

How I won't use your personal data

I will not pass on your email address to a third party for marketing purposes, nor will I use it to send you details of offers from enterprises other than DIYfunding. I will never pass on credit card details to anyone.

Data over the Internet

The internet is a global network - therefore there are cases where your data travels internationally, which may include places outside the European Union. I want you to know that if you visit DIYfunding or buy one of my products, you're agreeing and authorising me to process data in this way.
